Glow in the dark copper suncatcher

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Starry Starry Night
For christmas my grandmother had given my mom a huge gazing ball, which glowed in the dark, and looked much like the one in this suncatcher. I thought that she had one as well, I was mistaken. So, while this was suppose to compliment her gazing ball, it now adorns her porch. She loves it. When glowing at night it reminds me of the milky way or some distant nebula. It came packaged very well so there wasn’t much of a chance of it breaking in the shipping process. I just wish there were more colors to choose from. :-)

3 Stars Beautiful, but not what they claim it is
This is a very beautiful suncatcher, but that’s just what it is. When they say it glows, it does, but not much. I’ve quit using it outside and it now hands in a window that gets lots of sun and it’s awesome looking in my window.

So the claims they make about illuminating things are false, but I recommend it for its own beauty

3 Stars Okay, but not great!
These are okay if they are in a very, very, well lit area for the greater part of the day. If you do not get “direct sunlight” for at least 8 hours (manufacturer states only 6 hours)they will be extremely dim, or will not light at all. I had to move them from the original spot I had intended using them for, so they now work much better there.

If your looking for a soft look, not a dramatic light to your bushes or wreaths these are well worth the money. It is nice not to have to remember to plug in and unplug them every AM and PM. Not sure how much money we will save yet, as we have not had a Christmas electric bill to compare it too!

Hope this helps….

2 Stars Not brite light
I bought this for the walkway around my hut in Iraq. I couldn’t see a thing at night especially when there was no moon. I thought this would help, but one stream is not very long and not bright at all! The bulbs are tiny. My cigarette lighter provided more light. I had to get two more before it worked. The lights stay on for a good 8 hours. I guess this was better than nothing, as buying batteries for my flashlight was expensive and using lights with electricity was out of the question due to voltage conversion. I suppose this wasn’t what it was intended for, but be advised, it takes a lot of these to similate desired effect.

2 Stars Great Concept - Not Quite Ready for Market
We bought several strings of these, thinking they would be the answer to our Christmas decorating challenges. They really are a great concept, and with the advancement of solar technology (and LED lights), the concept is finally affordable enough to broadly market.

Unfortunately, they don’t work quite as well as hoped. Depending on how much direct sunlight you can get during the day in the location you are working with, you may get an hour a night, or up to several (maybe 6) hours a night of lighting. The lights are very small, so seem dim compared to normal plug in lights. The strings are also short compared to plug in lights, so you can only cover a small bush with one string.

Hopefully, solar technology will continue to advance and this concept will become even more viable, but for now, if you order, maintain reasonable expectations.

3 Stars Solar LED Light String
I’m happy with the solar string lights because they are solar however, when lit, the lights look blue rather than white which is fine if you are aware of this which I was not. Also, the lights are tiny. Now that I know the diff. between the looks of these and our electric lights I will purchase them again.

3 Stars Not as bright as I had hoped.
I am pleased with these lights overall. I had expected them to be a bit brighter, but with full sun during the day, they stay lit all night. I have placed them on my mailbox post so I get a light marking my driveway without having to use electricity.
