4 Stars Smaller than I thought it would be.
It is a nice globe. Never have to worry about it. Doesn’t need much sun to charge. Doesn’t blow around in extreme weather, never leaves base. Mine happens to be filthy right now & it still works. It is just a lot smaller than I pictured it on the amazon site.

Echo Valley - Illuminarie Saturn Stake Illuminarie glow crystals within the hand-blown glass globe capture light energy during the day, then release a soothing glow for hours after dusk. The Illuminarie globes absorb solar energy during the day and can also be recharged by exposure to incandescent, natural fluorescent or ultaviolet light. The flow will gradually fade but will be visible for up to 4 hours after dusk. Do not allow the globe to contact any heat source inside or outside. Use in potted plants, garden or walkway. Arrange a group of these along your walkway for evening enjoyment! Illuminary Saturn Stake Specifications: 4 inch diameter “Saturn Moon” disk is 7/8 inches across. Within the circle is an inner circle of fluorescent green glow crystals approximately 1/3 inch wide. Within the Saturn Moon Circle is a glass globe approximately 2.25 inches in diameter that in daylight is deep blue swirled with several shades of green. The glass globe extends about 2 inches above the circular disk. The globe and moon circle are mounted tipped to better capture light and sunlight. The underside of the disk is mounted onto a copper colored metal disk that is connected to a semi-circular copper colored metal circular mount finished like zinnia petals to which the globe is attached. The 3/8 inch diameter metal stake is attached to the bottom of the globe holder. The length of the stake to the first twist is 20 inches. From that twist to the bottom of the globe is about 9.5 inches. There is no point on the end of the stake. The total length is about 29.5 inches.

They do glow in the dark; and they look really nice in large flower pots. I originally purchased two on sale at Linens & Things and did not pay attention to fact that they glowed at night. When I did realize this, I searched for more and found them on Amazon.com.

1 Star This is not a charger.
I purchased one of these in the hope it could trickle-charge a car battery over a few days. It won’t. It produces such a small current in full sunlight that it can only maintain the existing charge of a battery. If you have a flat battery and you leave this plugged in for a few days, you’ll still have a flat battery.

this doesn’t charge at all i bought to charge a 12 volt battery- then when i got it found its only a maintainer. FALSE ADVERTISING
2 Stars Disappointing - especially from Coleman
The product description states clearly that this little device can be used in all weather conditions.
When unpacked, this does not appear to be the case, and when you read the instructions, on the bottom of the page in small print it says that the product in NOT to be used outdoors unprotected!
For a device that is meant to keep a battery ‘topped up’, typically devices that are not near shelter (snow blowers, tractors, automatic entrance gates, etc) this seems like a fatal design flaw!
Other than that - the device seems to work fine as a trickle charger.
1 Star NOT WEATHERPROOF
Regardless of what the Amazon listing says (and I asked them to change it over a month ago and still haven’t) this product is NOT weatherproof. When you open the package the literature about the product specifically states that it is “not for use outdoors”. You have to pay more to get a weatherproof model.

Lights work well, seem to charge well and provide good light for what they are. The ones I received however were brown not black, don’t know if it was just an amazon error or what, its not a big deal to me, but if it would be to you I’d be cautious.
5 Stars Boat dock lighting
I used these solar lamps to light my boat dock behind my house. I had reservations due to the installation objective of placing these lamps on 6″X6″ posts that extend up beyond the dock surface. Upon receipt, I discovered the installation guide easy to use, the product was everything I had expected and the installation without the provided posts or rods was a snap. I am very pleased thus far.

As a garden ornament is is adequate.
Unfortunately, as far as it ‘illuminating’ it does not.
It is in full sun all day long and at night there is nothing
around it but a small landscape light and still it does not
glow. I called company and they said to move it to where it
would be in total darkness at night. Done. Still doesn’t work,
The ‘companion’ piece that we ordered was the Saturn Stake.
They tried to mail it to me two times but both times it broke
in transit and carrier just sent it back to Amazon. I decided
I’d had enough and choose not to try to reorder this one and
get my $ back as the first wasn’t glowing.
2 Stars Lovely, but certainly not “illuminating”
This is lovely. It looks delightful in the garden. But, as a previous reviewer noted, it absolutely does not glow in the dark. Not even a little bit. Our garden receives full sunlight all day; at night it is completely dark. (We live in a rural area; there is no light from neighbors or other sources.) Given these conditions, if an item can glow in the dark, it should. Yet this most certainly does not.
I did try the old glow-in-the-dark test of bringing it into a closet (in the middle of the day, after several hours of very bright direct sunlight) and closing the door. The only thing that glowed was the old Timex I was wearing…
Buy this as a pretty lawn/garden ornament. Just do not expect it to glow in the dark at all.
Also, mine was packaged very well and survived shipping with no issues at all. It was well-protected, with a multitude of bubble wrap, air packs, packing peanuts, and filler paper — not to mention a box-within-a-box arrangement. I think the UPS truck would have had to actually run over the thing to do it any damage. I ordered from Amazon, so Amazon is to thank for most of the hyper-vigilant packaging — but, to be fair, the manufacturer’s packaging was quite adequate to begin with.

I’m very impressed with this company. They sent me the wrong item at first, but then I contacted them via the phone and they let me keep the other item and sent the original order as well. The items both showed up in a very short period of time. I am very impressed and would use them again.
