4 Stars Nice light set
I was surprised at the quality of this set from Malibu. Usually they make cheesy plastic junk but this 3 pack was well engineered and executed - plastic. Light output was better than expected for a solar set. We’ll see how many cycles the batteries can charge and discharge. So far so good though.
4 Stars Bright
They were much brighter than I thought they’d be. Ended up buying another set. They seem to hold a good charge 6-10 hrs depending on how sunny the day is.
5 Stars Great lights, easy setup
This is a great, high quality product. I also have the solar tiki torches and feel that if the product has the Malibu brand name, you can’t go wrong.
To be clear however, the term “Flood Light” is misleading.
These work best as accent lighting, to highlight things of interest in your garden or yard at night. A small group of 3 solar powered led bulbs are just not going to throw light like electric halogens.
4 Stars lighted stairway
I mounted these 3 lights under the edge of a deck to illuminate the stairway down one side of it and along the walkway 9 feet down. They are not bright, but I can see where I am walking or shoveling snow at night. These are exactly what I expected. They work well even when the day has been overcast, and my panel, to be out of the way, is in direct sun only about 4 hours a day.
The wires are long enough to allow good spacing. I am trying to think of other places to use them!
5 Stars Quality Set of Solar
These are not designed to light up a billboard, OK? But, they are quality made with the best solar panel I’ve seen yet. And this is my third set of solar landscape lights. I’m using this to light up my ground feeder so that I can see the nocturnal critters come in to feed. I’m just using one flood light, mounted about four feet off the ground. Just high enough so that the squirrels can’t jump up to it in the daytime! It does a great job of lighting up a six foot diameter area, and the bunnies don’t mind a bit! Installation was a snap. Oh, I let the batteries charge up a day and a half before turning the unit on. Thought this might increase the battery ‘memory’, and so far it has worked! Don’t be afraid to buy these for small lighting projects. But, don’t buy them for a flag up on a twenty foot pole, either.
